For those readers who haven’t heard of this event before, Paperworld is a trade only exhibition held in Frankfurt, Germany every year towards the end of January. It’s used as a showcase for most exhibitors to either launch new products or show “work in progress” to manufacturers closest trade partners from around the globe.
COLOP were in our usual spot, a huge corner stand in one of the busiest halls which allows us to show our brand to the maximum.
Our Printer self-inking stamp which was launched two years ago was still very prominent as many of the features remain unique to COLOP. For example, full personalisation of the handle to allow users to drop in their own pictures using our free on line design tool. The stamp which sits in your desk now becomes a photo frame showing your choice of photo. A family holiday, a big event such as a wedding perhaps or maybe your favourite pet. The choice is yours.
For ever pushing to add value to our products, COLOP showed for the first time an Augmented Reality Stamp App which really breaks boundaries when it comes to using stamps. It’s called ARSi (yes we know :)) and in simplistic terms, a code is built into the imprint made by the stamp and when viewed using the App on a smart phone or tablet in the same way as a bar code or QC reader, the user will then see the imprint come to life . For example, using our one of our popular Motivational Stamp designs called “Gold Star” sees the star come to life on the screen, jumping and spinning around.
We are currently thinking of practical and interesting ways in which to use this new technology. One idea could be an educator who uses the stamp, perhaps showing a light bulb on a students work. When viewed by the App hints and tips on that weeks project work could be displayed in a fun way.
